Can't remember if it was a flex fuel sensor or a knock controller that retards the timing - heard anything about that? I also wonder if it'd be ok to blend premium gas with e85 to lower the ethanol content to a conservative level before getting a chip tune. Maybe test various gas stations' e85 content in your area over the course of a predetermined time and take the lowest or average value. Sucks that the minimum "acceptable" ethanol content standard has been lowered (as of 2012) to just 51%.
